Thermal Performance Assessment of a Wall Made of Lightweight Concrete Blocks with Recycled Brick and Ground Polystyrene

Hollow concrete masonry blocks made of low strength self-compacting with recycled crushed brick and ground polystyrene as an aggregate (RBC-EP blocks), their expected structural role infill in steel frames, has been confirmed previous research studies, thus the extensive investigation thermal properties is presented this paper to fully approve potential application practice. The Heat Flow Temperature Based Method was used conduct in-situ measurements wall transmittance (U-value). experimental U-values without insulation varied from 1.363 1.782 W/m2·K, theoretical value calculated be 2.01 W/m2·K. Thermal conductivity material for making RBC-EP measured a laboratory by using heat flow meter instrument. To better understand performance characteristics constructed blocks, comparison standard materials currently found on market performed. Walls show improvement building technology environmentally based enhancement since they use materials. They can replace lightweight due desired mechanical properties, well compared commonly walls.
